THRIVE BY FIVE

Thrive by Five Washington, along with its partners and grantees, promotes solutions that make early learning opportunities more accessible to children throughout Washington state. The organization provides support to parents and caregivers to ensure that young children have access to excellent education at home, childcare and preschool. To accomplish these goals, Thrive by Five partners with the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction and the Department of Early Learning.

Created in 2006, Thrive by Five is a response to the results of Washington Learns, an 18-month survey of Washington’s education system. This survey, initiated by Governor Gregoire and the Washington State Legislature, examined the state’s education system and issued a series of recommendations for improving early learning.

Thrive by Five Washington is supported by both public and private funding, and governed by a board of funding partners. The Ackerley Foundation is proud to support Thrive by Five’s work.
